I fell it love with the 96-O dollar when I first saw it several months ago in another thread and encouraged you to send it in. I think I said it wouldn't surprise me to see it grade 63. That coin is tough! I hope it does well for you!

Its nice to see that Vermont pop back up. If I remember correctly you will have an amazing deal on your hands. I think it will grade higher, VG maybe but cleaned. Either way thats a great colonial to have.

Correction on what I posted about ANACS
The 12 coin promotion for May is only for Walking Liberty halves.
I still plan on signing up, and they will Email me when they Have different promotions. --------------------------------------
I think they might be looking at my coins at NGC. Some of the information they have listed on the Vermont has changed

Note that someone has to enter the data on your coin submission into NGC's tracking system. They do make errors and you should proof-read their entries when they become available for you to review. I had to ask for corrections for nearly all my last 1/2 dozen submissions (there was typically one error per/submission of anywhere between 6-12 coins). On one of them, I deliberately ignored a misattribution to see how far it would go before it was caught. Needless-to-say, it got slabbed and mailed to me with the error.

The monthly ANACS promos can be a money saver. I like their turnaround time, too. I was just looking through all the 96-O Morgans on ebay and the number of AU coins outnumbers the UNC coins by a huge margin. The coin you sent to to NGC blows every 96-O I looked at out of the water. Yep...even the couple that somehow made it to MS60 and 61. Yours has the typical NO strike but the fields and cheek are surprisingly clean. Can't wait for the results!

Good luck. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an MS-61 on the '96-O! I've never submitted coins before, it's great to read this thread. My family inherited some great coins 5 years ago(just a coincidence that I collect), which include lots and lots of '64 halves and Morgans, a lot of Swiss gold Helvetias, an 1880-M gold Sovereign, and above all, American gold. 1 half eagle, 1861 and 5 quarter eagles-1851, 53, 55, 61, and the prize of the collection, a 56-C. All coins are in varying grades of MS, maybe some AU. Anyway, I'll start a thread when I get to grading them with NGC.

Thanks Numisma ... Trying to not get to excited about what grads I could get .. Just hoping for the best ... to me it will be worth the gamble Even if I don't get the grades I would like to get. Just learning how the submission process works has been a good experience. ----------------------------------------- Sounds like you ...your family ... have gotten some nice coins passed down I think everyone would like to have a C mint gold coin in their collection.

Well .. the status has changed to Finalized/Imaged/Shipped Not sure what to think about one of the grades. I sent a message to one of the CCF experts for a opinion. The other four I am very happy with. one .. very very happy. maybe 4 out of 5 isn't to bad ..

Can we assume that the absence of grades means these will appear in 'You versus NGC' posts in the grading forum?

I was thinking ...something along those lines ..
Or just opinions for each .. in the classic section.
And not sure if I should wait to have them in hand .. or just post the link to the NGC site.
I posted this thread .. just to show my experience with NGC.
Which so far .. no problems ...
There is the one coin that I am not sure of the status.
Not sure if I should call them .. or wait for the coins to be returned.

I would wait on the coins and then post each in their own thread with a link back to NGC if that helps. I do not post much in those threads, but they are fun to follow.
