Received Emails from NGC at 6PM .. about shipping
and shipping invoice.

Not sure if this means they are shipping them at this point.

And not sure if I will get a tracking number.

-------------------------

Some Emails with a CCF expert .. feels that there is a chance
that the Vermont will be slabbed .. with a details label.

I have to say I have not seen, in hand, many Vermont coppers. So I do not have a lot of knowledge about these
coins. This coin was a good gamble sending in.

_________________________________________________

The other four coins, like I posted earlier, I am completely
happy with the results. I know in most cases I will lean
toward the lower grade, when I am putting a grade on a coin.
With the four classic coins I sent in, all four did better than I thought they would.

The lesson I have gotten so far, coin selection is important
when sending coins into a TPG.

Another funny thing, I signed up for NGC on May 22, 2014.
Depending in the mail, I should get the coins back on
May 22, 2015. I did not plan that. During the year I changed
what coins I wanted to send in several times. I am happy
with the five I did end up selecting.

If you are happy with 4 out of 5, then it's a total victory, and you are just playing with house money at this point.

Success

Just called NGC.

Coins were shipped back to me yesterday afternoon.
Registered mail.

I ask about the 1788 Vermont.

They said it was plated. And they do not slab plated coins.

Darn

Ouch.

So no slab, no details label?

I am not sure what it means by plated... but as for the other 4 that would be a win in my book! Glad you are happy (mostly) with the results! Can't wait to see them and what they graded!

They should have at least attributed it and put it in a details slab. I do not see how leaving it raw helps them or their reputation.

One of my coin return last year in a flip(Not Encapsulated-Not Genuine) real gold but made in the Middle East in the 60's or so from what I found out.

Well .. I just got home, there was a slip in the mailbox
that they tried to deliver my coins.
I did not leave the house until 10AM, and there was no
update on tracking, so I thought they would come tomorrow.
I can get them at the P.O. at 9am tomorrow.

Here is how my experience went.

May 22, 2014 signed up for a yearly membership.
I thought it cost me $125, I checked today and that level is $129.

Did not figure out what coins to send until this month.

From filling out the form, has added prices.
Shipping and Ins. $30.00 (for return shipping and ins.)
Handling fee $8.00
Variety plus for the 1788 $15.00
Shipping and Ins. $18.00 (my cost to ship there)

Thursday May 7, 2015 - Mailed Small flat rate priority box (USPS)
Saturday May 9, 2015 - USPS tracking shows NGC signed for Package
Monday May 11, 2015 - Shows up on under Members home page,
Icon "Submission tracking"
Wednesday May 13, 2015 - "Scheduled for grading"
Monday May 18, 2015 - "Grading/Quality control"
Tuesday May 19, 2015 - "Finalized/Imaged/Shipped"

Around this time I could use the submission form number
to check the grades of the coins I sent in.

Tuesday May 19, 2015 6PM - received Email, coins shipped back to me.
Thursday may 21, 2015 - If I was home coins would have delivered.

Total cost
$125
$53
$18
------
Total cost - $196 or $39.20 per coin.
If I did not do variety plus on the one coin, would be $36.20 per coin

So $40 per coin to grade... Wow these places are expensive! It's a cool process and I've enjoyed following your progress but dang... I don't know if I can justify $40 each

That is why coin selection is very important.

Most cases it is not cost effective to send
coins in to be graded.

In my opinion there are times that it is worth the extra cost.

- For authentication of key date or high value coins.
- For the Early release/First strike collectors.
(There is proven money to be made, for the first one
to have the special labels for sale)

Starting tomorrow I will be posting the outcome of this adventure.

It will become clear that this was a good choice to send
in this group of coins.
