Hard to tell but you can see very bright copper color Def copper. the coating is off in these areas. ? What does this mean. Also Connecticut is almost black and wierd outer shade. I have alot off coins that look just like ones on ebay colors etc. And they are a lot of money. How do I know? What do I look for. How can I find prices. Report this Post to the Staff

CoinMasters Pillar of the Community United States 5964 Posts	Posted 05/08/2015 8:38 pm Tman, you can tell if it is something that's just on the surface- such as a stain, by seeing high points of the coin that show original color from wear. Whatever is on it wore off on some of the reliefs. Report this Post to the Staff

When it is appealing, it enhances values of coins that already have value for other reasons. That's probably what you're seeing on E bay. Your coins have neither. Keep looking, A good place to start is to find coins with raised areas that are not on comparable coins. Keep reading and posting here and you should learn a great deal. Report this Post to the Staff
