Thought this was a coin at first but cannot find it in any catalogue so I'm presuming a medal of some kind?

It's definitely silver, almost prooflike about 19g and 37mm

Is it about the same thinkness as that of a Morgan dollar? 19 grams sounds insufficient for silver.

Also, I can't see a denomination on it.
That, the dual portrait, the inscription of the other side and the single date "1345" suggests to me it is just a medal. I agree on the prooflike surfaces but the colour on the high spots looks a little bit off, but if silver it's probably just toning.

Coronation medal/medallion of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi and Empress Farah.

Last monarch of Iran now buried in Egypt.

A great piece of history

Thanks - that helps. Was worried about weight but 100% convinced it was silver due to the harsh toning on the obverse and a quick search for medals like that seem to vary between 19-23g for various years of Iranian medals which is a little strange!
