Hi. I found this 2007 D penny and I noticed a 7 on the lower part of Lincoln's shirt. Maybe I have been looking at coins to long? Or maybe not? Any input would be nice. Thanks!

It's too small to be a 7 from the date and I don't see how a clash would match up anywhere. Must just be one of those things that looks like something. Like a bunny in the clouds sort of thing.

if the coin was rotated to the right or left its one of those ways and as it was struck multiple times

I see the seven, but there's no other explanation than cwb's "bunnies in the clouds" theory.

Yes! Where Teachmind111 has out lined. I will work on getting better pictures. I compared it to multiple coins and none of the other 2007 D pennys displayed a 7 on his shirt.

I see what "looks" like a 7 but I think it's a plating issue.

I looked in a bag until I found a couple of circulated 2007-D's and did an overlay comparison of them. I think it is just part of the design that happens to resemble a 7.
