I'm thinking about buying a monster box of 500 American Silver Eagles. So far the lowest markup I've found on ASE's has been on rolls on ebay. I've seen as low as $1.50 over spot per coin for as many rolls as you want. This was from a major dealer. It seems odd to me that the best price I've found is on ebay considering that the seller has to pay ebay and Paypal. Realistically, what's the lowest markup I can expect to pay? I'm in no hurry to buy.

I thought major dealers don't pay eBay/Paypal fees as much as individuals do. Probably that's why they can afford the $1.50 markup.

But $1.50 really is the lowest that I have ever heard.

One thing though, whenever any major dealers are advertizing such ridiculous low markup; silver usually has a long way to drop.

So far I have no purchase plan, until labor day the earliest.

If you have a store subscription, you pay a lower final value fee percentage vs non store plus lower listing fees. Power Sellers also get a FVF discount.

Thats just silly. Very doubtful these big dealers know which way the spot is going to go, unless maybe they are owned by JP Morgan etc which are underlings of the Rothschild's. Then ya maybe.

It is interesting to see that short positions from producer/merchant and swap dealer/bank, are usually in sync.

i.e. they both increase and decrease together.

I have a hard time to believe that there is no connection.

The gold and silver market has been manipulated blatantly for years. Anything can happen

Hey I didn't say that I didn't believe you about the manipulation , but I doubt these bullion dealers are big enough/connected enough to those who are causing the manipulation. But its possible they are underlings of the underlings in the pyramid.

$1.50 over spot is very, very low (below cost from the mint). Please link them here if you would. I've never seen that low on ebay.

Gone right now. After that the same seller came back at $1.70 over spot, but I decided not to buy because I was hoping the $1.50 would come back. I shouldn't have hesitated. I'll post a link if anything under $2 shows on ebay. So what is the mint markup over spot to their bullion dealers?

BTW, I've been able to buy a roll of new 1oz silver rounds at spot, four different types of new 1oz gold bars at spot (in assay packaging) and a new 2015 Gold Maple Leaf at $14.99 over spot. All of these were delivered prices by a major player. I'd like to get a similar good deal on American Silver Eagles.

$2.00 each over spot is what I have always understood to be the mint's price to authorized purchasers. I have also heard people say it's $1.50 over so I'm not 100% certain which it is but either way $1.50 over is cheap, cheap, cheap.

OK, so it's pretty safe to say that <= $2 is the bottom. That's what I needed to know.

JM Bullion, APMEX, & Provident Metals are $2.49 over spot. So $2.00 or $1.50 over spot will save you some cash for sure.

OK, what about Silver Maple Leafs at $1.85 over spot (delivered per roll of 25)? Has anyone seen lower?
