Yes, I ran into Daniel soon after you left Bill. Dollarman, I bought the 9/6 off a dealer who knew what he had, almost. It cost me quite a bit, but it will help me a lot in the hunt for more.

Unfortunately I did not see any of you at the show. I was there on Friday. I would have thought better of the show had both of my purchases not been problematic. One was misattributed, and the other might be a fake.
Anyway I hope to run into some of you next time.

orfew: You should have seen spp there, as he had a booth in the room to the right as you walked in. As per norm, when I go to a T.O. show, I wear orange, as not too many old folks wear orange and so that unknowns can spot me.

I looked several times for SPP's booth but could not find it. I looked for his sign, the one to match his avatar but I did not see it.

well, when you entered there was the guy in an orange kinda Hawaiian shirt...(M. Findley) the second you passed him you had to turn right and go strieight down that area to the vary end...on the left side there was tada! spp-ottawa. his sign was a little small but it had his avatar. he was pretty lucky cause he had a nice natural light window which is always a plus.
Feel free to call me Will.

Hey Zonad, I sold a type two 9/6. Was that to you? I think we flipped a token for the price. If I remember correctly.

My showcase had the CCF copper token right in the middle of the wooden (oak) display case on my table. I was in the wing that was called "Collector's Corner", with the small tables in the middle for the collectors to sit and chat; beside Alliance Coins, with the wall of windows behind my back. You would have walked right by me, if you were there Friday, and went to the auction viewing room.

I only attended the auction on Friday, but I didn't attend the show. I scored a few times, but not nearly as many as I had hoped due to some overzealous bidding, unlike the GB auction at the previous Coin Expo. Considering the long and painful commutes getting in and out of DT Toronto these days (with no congestion relief in sight for the next few years), I really wish organizers would entertain hosting their Toronto coin shows/auctions to areas of the city that are more accessible. Personally, I'd recommend somewhere near Pearson Airport, or a venue along any of the 400/401/403/410/427/QEW series hwys. GTA folks know how ridiculously painful it is to access DT Toronto, and I think the various coin events that are hosted in DT Toronto would be better attended if they were held along the city's perimeter rather than the DT core.

All downtown show locations will have the same traffic problems, it's still one of the brightest and nice place for a coin show. It was nice to get out and meet many of my good friends and some new faces of collectors, the conversations were great, and worth the drive downtown.

I prefer the downtown location. I am travelling by bus from about 1.5 hours away. It is very convenient to hop on a bus and take the subway. If the shows were in the outskirts I would probably never attend.

I'd feel re-miss if I didn't express the great pleasure in meeting up with old friend and meeting new ones. As a perk for attending these shows one gets the pleasure of seeing some of Zonads coins in person along with others of course.
Cheers to all, SIC

The easiest way for any of the Expo shows at the Reference Library is to take the GO train to Union Sta and then the subway up to Yonge/Bloor. From Burlington (1 hour), it's $5.05 one way and the subway another $3 token. That's $8 and about the price of a beer at Jack Astor's, where the subway lets out, & 1 block from the Expo. You can't park for 1/2 hour in T.O. for $8. Just drive to a GO station and take it in. The construction at Union Sta for the PanAm games is essentially done.
The Yonge/Bloor location is infinitely easier than the airport for Torex. If you live anywhere from Burlington to Markham, use the GO train, then subway. If North, a bus & the subway.
