Sap Moderator Australia 16868 Posts	Posted 06/04/2015 5:48 pm "Less than 1mm thick" should be the giveaway indicator here: this is not an ancient coin. It's actually Venetian, or perhaps one of the Venetian colonies; the number "12" in the exergue on the first pic is the denomination, 12 denari, also known as a scudo. I can't read the doge's name on this same side, but I believe it will date from the late 1600s or early 1700s. Similar to, but not quite the same as, this one on icollector. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff
