I understand what a die chip is, my question is , is this coin a result of a die chip and the chip landing on the next coin creating the second error

looks like something very very hot enough to melt the copper landed on it then fell off

No it looks like a die chip. The little post of the die that creates the hole in the 9 broke off so when it's pressed the metal of the coin fills up where the post is broken

If your talking about the mark below the MM and to the left it looks like simple PMD,nothing to do with the die chip.

I think they were questioning the die filled 9 in the date John1.

Although, the PMD you are talking about reminds me of an Oyster or maybe Pac Man.
