Hey hollywood, your first link set sold the other day for $1600... compare the spots on truman!... so either they have other 70s & are using generic pics of a spotted one or maybe the original sale was cancelled? What does everyone think?! 121704541428

Generic pic, in one of the listings, it says cert #'s would be emailed, and I thought "I can read the cert #'s in the pic" must be 1 photo and who knows how many they have...

Ok guys, remember my post about the same spots on 2 70 sets from the same seller... well, it looks like a 69 set they have is THE same rp coin as in the 70 sets!?... what are your thoughts? I see they're a big seller but WHY would they do this unless those spots are from the die and they are different coins maybe Here they are... 70... 12170454142869... 111721377791

same exact coin and medal in the 69 and the 70 in your links...I would consider that deceiving considering the price difference.

This has to be a photoshop job then to put the same coin in different holders or different labels on the slabs. Let's see what others think

One possible reason might be that the seller has sent coins out to get graded, received notification of the grades, but has not yet received the coins from the grader. By selling the coins now before he has physical delivery of them, he is locking in his price if he feels like it will go down. Another less likely and more nefarious possibility is that he is in essence short selling the coins, if he thinks the prices will drop significantly in the near future he can sell coins now that he doesn't have for a high price, and when the price drops he can simply go out and fill the orders with cheaper coins he buys after the price has fallen. His profit would be the difference between the sale price and his buy price to fill the order.

Quote: Its hard to tell if the stringy thing is embedded in the coin (a struck through) or is sandwiched in between the capsule and the coin. Next time just open the capsule and look...if it is on the capsule then remove it. My submissions had quite a few small imperfections that turned out to be on the capsule... Re: the two PGC sale coins...it was stated that the coins were "representative of the coins you will receive"..not the actual coins. Common practice when someone has multiple similar graded coins to sell... ...and he removed the cert number from the 70 for whatever reason but states it would be emailed to the buyer.. ...and..why "photoshop" the same spotted coin in both holders? If you were to Photoshop the images why not just remove the spot? Much easier...

Quote:Theres not that many 70 sets for sale on ebay right now from what I can see wy is that perhaps low mintage ? Many are still waiting to get their sets returned to them...the dealers ALWAYS get them first and flood the market before Joe Normal can even see his coins... This "flood" is more of a trickle though... ..and Hollywood...my comments re: 70 sets getting to the $1000 range was directed to NGC sets just to keep aplles and apples together...I don't mean this to be a bad thing...$1000 for a $57 set (plus grading) is nothing to dismiss...and "near future" would be in a couple to few weeks MCM set ends tonight....presently at $1057 Edited to add: Two PCGS 70 sets sold last night...$1425 and $1475 Not too many just the medals out there but a few 70 grade sold last night PCGS...$255 and $206 NGC....$275

I think the reason that these are doing so well (in addition to the ridiculously low mintage) is that it is not a one trick pony...it is the start of a SET and you need the first one to start this set....and you will need the rest to complete it

"the start of a set" kinda like the S mint unc quarters but worse there is only a couple of years left in this series

The S-Mont ATBs were also released only to collectors. However, millions were minted as opposed to 17,000. Not quite the same.

Thanks...I was thinking it was a different set than the circulation strike ones with way over a million struck.
Yes, not an appropriate comparison.
