Quote: I've got 20 of these and I cant decide whether or not to send them out for grading. I guess that would have to be a decision you will eventually have to make.... You have a few choices... ..sell some of the sealed boxes and let someone else get the 70's out of them ..open the boxes and submit the best coins for grading..a 70 would be the Holy Grail and make it all worthwhile. Keep the rest as raw sets...definitely not a poor 2nd choice. Raw sets are close to $200 and the last sealed box of 5 went for $990 so no real gain with keeping it sealed AND you lose the CHANCE of a 70 The "open the box" thing is definitely time limited so make your decision this weekend...

Well I caved and opened them, there are 5 that definately have a shot at 70 and two others I'm not sure if the mark is on the capsule (or lint ect) or on the coin. I have submitting privileges to NGC so thats were ill send them. Does anyone know if I can submit a non early release coin along with coins that are early releases? I have a 2014 enhanced native american I might submit as well.

I used my stamps to send the package to NGC, isn't that what they were for? Pre-paid postage?

If you are requesting the C & Chronicles SAC label then it is also an additional $5 so it should just be another line item at the same price. They will defer the ER by policy. Note both label requests in the "comments" box I would call if you have any questions..but...not sure if they are there on the w/e

The 2nd PCGS one is from two weeks ago and shows the inflated flip price... The 1st PCGS one is more in line with present prices. Yesterday another sold for $1630 in addition to that $1414 ....but...the NGC sets are hanging right with that $1400 range. I still see these in the $1000 or a tad lower in the very near future..but..with that said...it will then begin a slow trend back upward as the other coins in this newly created series are issued (and hopefully with a higher mintage) Man..just getting ONE 70 out of a submission would make my day....well...maybe two

Just trying to learn this grading and ordering from the US Mint,ok when a person really just getting into collecting and want to get their coin graded you have to have more then one coin to send off.If you don't get the coins with First Strike on it that mean you losing value or something. When you order from the US Mint you can't get separate package to the same address reason ask I have purchase from there and everything came in one package,if you want separate order how do you guys do that, you might want to keep one sealed.I know I don't have the money like you guys but I want to try to do what you guys do make your coins pay for the coins you purchase.I hope I'm asking these question correctly.

Reno32, my suggestion is that you shouldn't get caught up in 3rd party grading. I'm picky retentive and I've seen plenty of 69 grades that look perfect to me and have even seen some 70's that were not perfect. Most here are interested in the 70's versus 69's simply because they can sell the 70's for big bucks to fund more coins in their collection. As pointed out already in this thread, the early release thing is completely meaningless when it comes to this coin because they were all minted in one batch and released at the same time. There's no real way to tell which one was first versus last. However, that's not to say that the early release label is of no value if you're going to sell the coin. Some people are willing to pay more for whatever reason. If you want to have the coins in your collection 3rd party graded, then you'll end up spending more money per coin and will end up with fewer coins overall. Go to coin shows, ask questions and learn for yourself what appeals to your eyes. Ultimately, what someone else thinks doesn't really matter unless it's time to sell. All that said, I think there is a very valid reason to purchase 3rd party graded coins. They can authenticate rare coins that are often faked. The additional price you pay for one that might be faked is almost always worth it.

Alrighty so I sent off 6 Truman RP's and 1 of the silver medals to NGC via priority mail. One of the truman's seems to have been struck through either a hair or some type of thread, so I subbited that one for mint error attribution. Its hard to tell if the stringy thing is embedded in the coin (a struck through) or is sandwiched in between the capsule and the coin. Besides the stringy thing, the coin is flawless. Hopefully I get at least 1 70 out of the bunch to cover the grading fees lol
