Colonial Acres and The Coin Shoppe have back in stock innovative "Maple Leaf Shaped coin".
Whoever didn't get it initially........did correct. This is beginning of the price fall.

Colonial Acres is selling it for $159.99, $10 more than issue. Pass for now.
Gatewest Coins still have it for issue price less 5%.

This is right, seems to be $10 above issue. But only $10 more? Why to sell for less, if coin is "hot"? They've sold a first batch for issue, now suppose to be the time to increase to "whatever customer will pay". But the customer doesn't want to pay Innocent trick - "limit of 5". Not one ore two.... Well, people laughed on the "Glass Ladybug" in the 2011, but that coin was 5000 mintage.

They overflooded.
NZ Mint doesn't do smart timing recently... the Scrooge have been released short time ago, and prior it - the Spock coin, and now Darth Vader. Each of one separately not bad (Darth Vader could be more appealing), but all together issued in same period reduce the value and collectability.

Quote: one dealer took and slashed prices on the Scrooge McDuck coin from 84 to 77 this week. For Canadians $77U.S. with our current exchange rate is still higher than the $100CDN I just paid, and that's with no added shipping costs. Sure, price might drop for us Canadians eventually, but Mickey and Donald couldn't wait. I don't regret buying it. not yet, anyway. lol

Couple of thoughts-
yea the Burning Maple has been a very popular coin with demand very strong... might be one of the handful of winners for 2015...
So after I saw dealers dropped the Scrooge McDuck to 77 its now at 75 lol... which doesn't surprise me one bit. I suspect this coin drops even further 6-8 months out,, I will wait it out
and finally, Silveroid, I agree with you, that new Star Wars coin doesn't look great at all,,, I dunno but Darth Vader looks like he is wearing a quilt as he is depicted on the coin lol

The markups are incredible for RCM dealers around 30% for the largest, and CA I believe is not even a RCM dealer, that's why the RCM makes very little profits, while us collectors are over charged for 1 oz. coins.
