1907 $10 Indian Head Differences? - Coin Community Forum

Willem2904 New Member Norway 44 Posts	Posted 06/26/2015 07:44 am Hi, I have a 1907 $10 Indian Head, and read that there are different types of 1907 $10 Indian head coins (the Normal one, the Wire Rim, and the rolled edge) Mine certainly doesn't look like a wired rim, but I was wondering: How can one see the differences between a normal one and a rolled edge one? I know I should look at the Rim, but it's so hard to see any differences at all. Are there other differences between these coin types? Willem2904 New Member Norway 44 Posts	Posted 06/26/2015 08:16 am I think I've found a difference. It seems all Rolled Edge coins have "dots" in front and behind the text "E Pluribus Unum": The normal 1907's don't have that it appears. Report this Post to the Staff

The wire rim coins (mintage 472) and rolled edge coins (50 pieces originally survived) have periods bracketing E PLURIBUS UNUM and TEN DOLLARS and are extremely expensive. terry8835 Pillar of the Community United States 1450 Posts	Posted 06/29/2015 7:26 pm They call those "Indian Head Eagles" but it is supposed to be Lady Liberty with a funny hat. Is the Indian Head Eagle one of those coins that are almost impossible to collect a full set like the Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle? I think the answer is "Yes" unless you are a multimillionaire with plenty of cash and a burning hunger to collect the coin. darn neat coin for sure! I am seeing all these wonderful 20th Century Gold coins today here. Gold is beautiful and it does have a hypnotic affect on many humans. Report this Post to the Staff
