No harm in looking unless you do something dumb like sneak a peak while pitching your 'Jerry' sitcom to NBC with your buddy George.

Not hard to ID the Cheerios Dollar from the amount of detail. Well worth the second or two of your time.

None of these are getting found in the wild either so their might even be like 2 seconds of fame involved here.

Numismatic fame anyway if that counts.

Haha. Wide rim! I meant 1979 near dates. I guess they are called both.

I look all the time for a Cheerio's dollar and have never found one. I compare that to looking for a 1943 copper Wheat cent but who knows. .......he he

I've always thought that flea markets and yard sales would be the places to look for one of these dollars.

I dream of a disinterested kid having once pulled one of these coins out of his cereal box and then throwing it in a drawer, never realizing its value or significance.

Then the kid eventually moves out and mom goes through his room gathering items for her garage sale...

I never knew that some of those Cheerios packages had dollars. I've got a couple with the pennies, but sadly none with the dollars. I'll have to check when I get dollars from the bank.

Who cares what the outsiders think. Numismatic fame is all that counts.

I've been looking for these for years. However, being 15 years old, I don't make a lot of transactions, nor do I need to. That being said, I very very rarely receive dollar coins in change, so I have probably searched maybe 2 or 3 2000-P's.
