thanks ray the plastic. I purchased at a building supply store. the new metal racks one installs for closets shelves. they has a plastic cover that sits on top of the shelf 16 inches wide 8 feet long. to cover your rack so dust and small objects don't come through. it cost 8 dollars a roll here in Canada. its very close to your diffuser. I like this lens. have a great one.

I have started to work on putting together. a projector lens setup. right know every thing is loose. I hand held the lens to helicoid snapped the photo in live view with the mouse. I think this will make a very good coin lens once I get so pieces to made it solid. best thing about this is the setup will fit in rays el cheapo thread. ok here is one photo hand held the lens against the helicoid.

I think you have moved up a couple of steps with this projector lens, I'm still trying to work with my regular stuff. Looks good.
Will bring up my thread shortly, just got things set back up after the summer

ok do some photos with the Nikon d7100 Minolta macros lens 100mm 1:4 for some reason. when I shoot in manual. I can not get the images light enough. so I set the Nikon in aperture priority. the images are bright. trying to figure out how to set this camera. I don't have it tethered. I just gently squeeze the shutter and hope for the best. here is 2 images. ray if you get a chance could you tell me what the setting should be any suggestion. I thought I need to use this camera well here they are

I purchased a brand new canon. there is a couple of things that I have to set. this canon is slightly different. it came early with and 18 to 55 mm kit lens. I took a couple of quick photos with the Rodentstock lens. these are of the 1969 Canadian nickel dollar. this coin is in a plastic holder. the camera shoots pretty good. this canon I have set up the micro focuser and I have set the focus magnifier. here are the 2 images
