Thank you SilverDon, jbuck, DBM and commems!

SilverDon it is indeed MS67. It also has a CNAS sticker, so if I were to regrade it, I think it would have a solid shot at MS68. Crazy one of a kind toning for sure. here's the cert number if you want a closer look: 43431454

I am currently on the hunt for the elusive 54mm version. I'll keep the thread updated on if I find one!

These are the 4 variety for the 54mm
Gold
Silver
Bronze
Tombac

Here's the 54mm bronze medal I have in my collection + the original case in which it was presented - all were well taken care of over the years by previous owners.

I am fascinated by this thread, and so happy to read through it. I have one of the small school kids medals, and two of the silver ones. In addition, I have two other medals one with the HMS Repulse on one side (with a Birks stamp) and another one mentioning the coronation in 37 and royal visit to Canada in 39.
Interesting to note that the Repulse escorted the Empress of Australia that transported the King for the first half of the crossing. I guess that's why it warranted a place on the medal. The history of the Repulse and the description of its sinking in 1941 is an interesting read.
