The one on the right looks stronger than the one on the left. Pulls vf30 and probably xf

Edit: Looking back at this post I realized my sausage fingers pressed the wrong button

I think both would be EF-40.

I agree with EF on the above wreath and high VF on the below wreath mm. Great topic and great examples!

This really is a great topic and examples as Dave said. I was unaware of the MM location move mid year... is this the only year a MM has moved that dramatically on Liberty Seated coins?

Thanks for all the opinions, information and discussion. These two little beauties were fairly priced and came into the LCS together, so, I figured I wouldn't split them up. Like I said, it looked like they were in an album together. I thought it was something interesting that I hadn't payed much attention too before I saw the pair in the shop today.

I agree with EF for both coins, based on the strong reverse detail. The obverse weakness might hurt the eye appeal but should not bring the technical grade below EF in my opinion. I'm not seeing any obvious problems like cleaning or damage. Nice pair!

Ha!  You may have something here.  I used your image and added Ken Potter's (koinpro) website image for comparison, I tried to get koinpro's image to be the same size for comparison, and it sure looks like one of the same, or something really close!  I believe that it is attributed as FS-301 (or 302) in the CherryPickers Guide (which I don't have with me).

Pick-up Point between the rock/gown border between the "8" and "7" above the date appears to be a MisPunched Date (MPD) which resembles an errant "8".

You have the coin in hand, what do you think?

This is the best I can do right now. I'll try to magnify it later.

I looked at it under a loop and I believe it is a MPD. Thanks for pointing it out. I would still like someone other than me to confirm what I'm seeing. Again oih82w8, thanks for the "heads up". I spent the rest of the night going through my CherryPickers Guide. Oh, that cropped picture I posted above doesn't really show anything.

Here is Ken Potter's (koinpro) image and web page which I found it on;
