My Sunday Market Finds

Unfortunately I've had a very busy weekend - enough so that I could not find any time today to make it to the market

I was helping my brother with his sales stand at a model railroad show over the weekend. Among the other stalls was one raising money for a railroad preservation project, and they had some coins and stamps for sale. I got this lot for £7!



The haul included these silver coins:


I was especially pleased with this lustrous 1920 French 50 centimes, the last date of its type and a gap in my collection...


... and this Coventry halfpenny token showing Lady Godiva who rode naked through the city's streets!

Wow!! Fantastic pick up. Great coins at a great price.

Today I finally had some time left over to go to the market - and I realise what I have missed! Today gave a neat appetizer!

This is the noteworthy finds of today. I bought a lot of the usual mixed world coins, this time it was mostly exchange rate coins, and not many coins of real interest, but the two Jamaican ones make the exception. Today's 50 kr worth.

Unfortunately I will be more than busy in the two coming weeks, so don't expect to see me around here until after that

Well, I am late to the party once more. I fell like I'm running out of excuses. Anyway, here's last Sunday's report.

I managed to get my hands on two rather large lots for quite cheap. Lots of currency.


A fair bunch of UK coinage (£4.61), including £1.48 Jersey pounds and a measy 11 Guernsey pence.
