It's a great occasion to celebrate, but just too many useless themed coins by the RCM. Wonder how a nondealer like C/A gets advance notice.

I don't think I have seen the effigy on the fractional set before, is that new?

Also, the Mint lowered the Mintage of the set from 9999 to 7500, must be trying to reclaim the "last set sold out" title for this set.

On the 2013 set there is "young Queen" (same as on 1988 coinage)

In all recent fractional sets, due to their relatively frequent issue (annually since 2013), only the 1oz coin is interesting....which usually available later, graded, for CDN 110 - 140.

No the one on the 2016 set is not the same as the one on 2013. It is not one of the 4 effigies we have before.

sorry, thought you speak about any effigy , that not same as for year of issue of the set.

I might be mistaken, but this one, on the set, has similarity to the effigy on the 1952-2002 50 cents piece.

Added:
I see interesting comments on other forum regarding Aphrodite.... Guys, take a look at "Switzerland Shooting Thaler series", and specially at the 2015 coin....she is way better, than the Aphrodite

The Haunted Canada Brakeman coin is 93% sold out at the Mint. Get one in the clam shell while you can.

I don't think they will be hard to get at dealers if they do sell out at the mint since they had maybe like 1000 or so available at the mint out of the 15000 mintage of these.

Only thing is the clamshell version was like 5000 and the rest went to Canada post in the stamp and coin version. Or atleast that was the mintage split with the first coin if I recall or I should say , what I heard from a guy in another forum, I have not seen any official mintage numbers on the stamp and coin set from CP. According to this other guy the mintage was split, but I really dont know for sure.

Gatewest is selling them for issue on ebay atm. Kinda weird..

Northerncoins correct....

even the first one gives to simple re-seller $5-$10 profit after all fees. If you can get 50-100 of them...maybe worth, but as couple of items - nothing to be bothered for
and probably not a coin for the collection

Silveroid, you are spot on as usual. Only dealers could make money off this coin.

Coins4fun is selling it for $44.99 with $5.00 shipping. If I sold at that price I would lose money since I pay $32.00 for the coin + shipping is around $13.

As for the Ghost Bride, like you said, I sold one recently and I earned less than $10.

Colonial Acres IS a dealer and as such gets advanced notice.

CA is not on the list of "official" dealers posted on the RCM site but there plenty of smaller dealers. The Coin Shoppe is an example of another one.

Since CA is not an "official" dealer, that is why they pulled it off their site.

For what it's worth, had talk with owners of CA, I believe Todd, he says they are not a RCM dealer at local coin show about a year ago, but I do believe The Coin Shop is a RCM dealer.

Scalloped (but non-Zodiac) coin and the Fractional set haven't been mentioned in the advance notice.
