And here is some of my suggestions.
1. Just package up the entire pile of coins and send to me.
2. Purchase the latest Red Book by Whitman Publishing. Not a good book for prices but very valuable for information on what you have.
3. If possible, do not rush into selling off anything until you really know what they are and if you want to keep or sell.
4. Not sure if there are kids in your family or yet but you may want to consider keeping many, some or all for them. Would be a great start for a family tradition.
5. If you plan on selling coins, possibly ebay is the best for a good return. Many other dealers, coin stores, etc. would give you the lowest possible prices on what you have.
6. And remember that all the above information is given free so again, think of me and send everything to me. Great way to get rid of this problem of what to do.
7. Look up coin shows in your area. If any, go to them and ask around for a dealer that may want to go in with you on selling some at the shows.
