I'm also surprised RFD set is still available (I ordered a set and really do like, 2 coins, 2 medals and 3 stamps). You may want to order now, in case you get a flawed coin/medal, you would still return and hope for another set with no condition issues. 20,000 mintage could make these finally sell out soon.

That's getting to the point where it's not worthwhile to sell. If it hits 80% I may just return a couple to the mint.
Which brings up an interesting idea. Supposedly the mint is destroying returns, not reselling them. Maybe if everyone pledges to return at least half their sets, we can turn it back into a key date.

Got my orders in with just a few expected "website not available" and "lost connection" errors. I did not expect the reports of being backordered. I though they would have the whole bunch ready for shipment... ..and Quote: Hey Fox, if you are ever in Southern Spain and want to hang out let me know. Thanks Half, we were there two years ago and spent a week each in Marbella and Estapona....fantastic time... Ordered my Kennedy Sets from Paris today...was worried but they went through fine

I set up everything last night, added some other items so that when I order this two set, it will get the free upgrade shipping. Well, I logged in a few mins late (just after 12), the site kinda slow.... and in the rush to check out, I added only 1 set to my order.... so I didn't get my upgraded shipping. I ended up order a 2nd set 25 mins later.
So, here are some info for those like to work with number and statistic: 1st Order: USM0354343X @ 12:08pm 2nd Order: USM0355409X @ 12:33pm ===> 10,660 orders went through in 25 minutes.
My CC was charged for both orders.
Emails confirmation for 1st order: 1st email ("Order Acknowledgement with order # only) NOT yet arrived & 2nd email (Order Summary, with all details) arrived 1hr 45mins after order placed. Emails confirmation for 2nd order: 1st email arrived 1 mins after order placed & 2nd email arrived 2hr 40mins after order placed.

Does it mean I'm golden if I see a pending charge on my credit card?

Quote: 20,000 mintage could make these finally sell out soon. Oh, it's 20,000 for FDR? Thought it was 17,000 like the Truman and Ike. Sales are slow and only 14,800 sold. I think I'm safe to wait for the LBJ set. It is a nice one, but it bugs me that two of the medals are exactly the same. I guess that was the only way to settle the silver vs bronze argument.

Quote: Darn. I just remembered that I planned on picking up a Roosevelt set with this order. I don't suppose they will last until the LBJ set, will they? Why risk it. Just bite the bullet and pay the extra shipping charge. Quote: jbuck...you had us on pins and needles Yes....2 and 1/2 hours and still available. Interesting Quote: Does it mean I'm golden if I see a pending charge on my credit card? I would say yes. It definitely makes me feel better to see it.

I have heard of many people who had condition issues with the FDR set and returned them, I don't know if the mint tries to resell. I wish all of these reverse proof Coin and Chronicles sets came with as many items as the FDR set has even though the 2 medals are the same but different size and metals used (more bang for the buck in my book).

Quote: Oh, it's 20,000 for FDR? Thought it was 17,000 like the Truman and Ike Just a reminder to all, the FDR was normal proof, not reverse. So those buying the recent sets just for the RP are not buying the FDR at all.

I agree. I like the bronze medal in the FDR and including a dime seems like a no-brainer. Sure, adding a full size Eisenhower dollar would have been a stretch, but I was bummed that the JFK did not include a clad proof half dollar.

Even getting both types of each medal in all sets would have been nice.

He only wants the profit. I still think a sellout is inevitable.
