Too many flippers getting burned by the lack of sellout and the "premium" price dropping. That is what happens when you play that game you can't always win.

He's saying the flippers will return theirs when there's no sellout since people won't pay a premium if they can still get them on the website. I'm still in the belief these will sell out at least by the end of the week (if not the end of the day).

mrpapageorgio is correct. I think this will still sell out today. I will like to see a order number from someone that just ordered in the last few minutes to see what we are up to.
My two sets will be in the box they ship in right next to the 2 ikes and trumans

Moorek,
I'd recommend editing your order number to remove the last two or three numbers (use a symbol like XXX or what have you).
That way, no one can call up the Mint claiming you want to cancel your order / route it to a new location. You can never be too careful with ordering online.

I really thought there would be stronger demand for Kennedy.
I do agree that they have to be getting close to a sell out by now though. The earliest order number I saw in here was 3534XXX and the last was 3559XXX so that is right at 25,000 orders. Maybe 5000 sets left is a guess for people that only ordered 1?

Quote: Maybe its just me but I think all 50,000 should have been produced before these went on sale as to not make people angry and wait for backorders. I really don't understand the mints rationale for not doing it this way. I think just the opposite. They only need to produce the quantity they know for sure will sell out. They can always produce more, but selling a product for a year or two or three on the mint's website generally means that they produced too much and the value will go down significantly. I actually think that everything that hasn't sold after a year should be destroyed.

Not producing the whole lot makes good business sense. If the set were entirely silver or gold, remelt is easy. Clad coins have to be recycled.
I almost wonder if the mint actually knew what they were doing. By creating such a fervor with the first two sets, they were able to double the numbers for the 3rd one. That banked them at least an extra $750,000 in revenue (based on a profit of $30 per set).

They will never please everyone, so they will at least try to please their bottom line.
