Hounddog Bill Pillar of the Community Canada 1224 Posts	Posted 09/15/2015 9:18 pm This coin just came in the mail I had picked it up off ebay, I new it had a weak strike from tired dies by the obverse pictures supplied in the listing but the rev. seemed really nice so I bought it. Now after taking pictures of my own it appears there's some doubling on the portrait and maybe some around the legend. I've looked through all of Zoell's work and nada thing. What type of doubling is this? Anyone know anything about or see this before? What would you grade it? (Remembering these pictures are blown up big and it looked much better in hand.) aswag Valued Member United States 214 Posts	Posted 09/17/2015 08:29 am We can definitely see that the dies are deteriorating, but I am not sure if that is the reason for the doubling. My guess is machine/strike doubling. Like chequer, I'd like to see a better picture of the legend doubling. As for grade, I'd give it XF45. I'm having trouble getting a closer picture of the legend I've only got a point and shoot camera and these pictures are about.as close as I can get.
