Yesterday I had to run to the bank to deposit a check during my lunch break. I went to a bank I had never been to before. I had a little cash so I thought I'd get a few rolls. I asked for $10 in pennies and a few nickels. The lady made a comment that someone had dropped off a bunch of pennies but I was in a rush and didn't think much of it. (And I was out of cash in hand). I didn't have a chance to even look at the rolls until midnight but I found a bunch of BU 70s,a few wheats, and almost all copper. One roll was labeled "mem" and full of copper. The one that wasn't copper was labeled 2002 and had all BU 2002s. Must have been someone's penny collection that was dropped off!

First thing today I went back but it was a different teller. I told her I was in yesterday and the other lady said someone dropped off a bunch of pennies so I'd like to buy more. She looked at me like I was insane and said "I don't know about that we can't spare more than $10". I did get a few more "solid red" rolls but half were just regular rolls. I should have withdrawn money yesterday and asked for more rolls. Who knows what I missed out on :(

Yeah.. that's very true jbuck. I should look on the bright side, atleast I got some pretty nice condition older LMCs and a few wheats. Hopefully the rest of the collection went to another CRH'er! I won't let it discourage me, as I stopped by some other banks today. I am lucky in the regard that MOST of the banks I go to are very nice and don't mind when I stop in to pick up some cents. I usually stay in the $10-$25 dollar range which I'm fine with.
