Hey hi ! I was at a real small coin show of 7 tables. Hmm so limited options --ok ! In a short 15 min I scored $75 bucks. I paid $30. Group values $105. There is a Lettered edge Lib cap--poor but for $10 bucks. And a decent Fair or a bit better Classic head 1808 And a 1840 Small date VG10 nice.

As long as you felt that you benefited from the experience, it would have been a worthwhile investment: financial intellectual or just plain having fun digging around for the stuff etc.

Not a bad haul for the price paid but IMHO worth well under $100. Earlier this year, I put an undated Liberty Cap Cent in a club auction with a starting price of $12 - no bids.

If only these coppers had been counterstamped!

In a world of coin collecting, buy what you like, that which puts a smile on your face is all that matters. Great pickups!

Liberty Cap Large Cents are great. Nice score there. I too would gladly pay 10 or 12 bucks for a cull that isn't holed or the like.

That is one of the top coins on my want list for US coins along with nice Trade and Seated dollars and a Grant Commem.

Not sure of your coin knowledge, but if you aren't familiar with the Liberty Cap and its significance as a symbol, you ought to read up on it. Goes back to ancient times as a symbol of freedom. Lots of interesting stuff there.

This is why I only have the year only Album for those. Attempting to get all the varieties would take me the rest of my life.
