Quote: Get together with other collectors or a coin club and order bulk boxes of these special coins from the bulk coin department in Winnipeg, one time handing fee, plus shipping. This is how dealers get their rolls So how do you start a fictitious "coin club" so you can get bulk rolls for yourself...

You can order direct 1 roll but the handling fee of 35.00 is the same for 1 roll or 1 skid, plus shipping coins are very heavy. The only reason for getting together a large order is to split cost, most dealers does this to save on shipping

I would check Canada Post for the rolls I know I was able to get 2 boxes of the double poppy coins back in 2010. I know Canada Post and the RCM have some sort of relationship. Just a suggestion.

squinton, CP no longer gets coins from the Mint like they did for older releases of coloured coins (or the 2002 50c piece). Similarly, RBC Bank no longer gets new coin ahead of other banks or special treatment when it comes to these commemorative circulation coins.
Your best bets are to be friendly with your local bank tellers and try to get them to call you when the good stuff comes in.

Received one of my packs today the poppy's look good but the toonies have the same problem as always with the edges. Besides that the rest of the toonies look good. Came in a nice extra thick paper envelope.

Quote: but the toonies have the same problem as always with the edges RCM for years uses the "milk spots" as security feature for SML. Now the new Toonie is also secured with the damaged ages. I understand that these for circulation, but really never ever saw damaged coins come from any other mint.

Ordered a set from the RCM today. Then I went to a local bank this afternoon and was able to pick up rolls of the poppy quarters. I picked up a couple rolls of the remembrance toonies as well. Got home and opened a roll of the poppy quarters. I was surprised to find only four coloured quarters in the entire roll.

Thanks for the update Master, got my Limit of 1! I guess my boys will just have to fight to the death for it!
When you say local banks, what city are you in! I am in Saskatoon and I have yet to see or hear of anyone with the new coins.
