Very nice, well, except for that hole.

Still, silver for face.

I have tried, no luck. That thread is so huge that my search tricks are not working effectively.

1877 might be the end of the line. Except fo the half thread, every other hit was about people dreaming of finding an 1877 IHC.

While we are here, I forgot to mention earlier that a former coworker of mine once found an 1878 Morgan at her first job as a cashier back in the 60s. That was back when the average Morgan was worth just barely over face.

Well, it has been a good run. Never give up hope though. Less likely things have happened.

I saw in another forum I belong to where someone found an 1877 seated half in a roll, that was about 5 years ago. It is possible.

Could you possibly convince them to post a pic of it?
Also, I found a youtuber (HiddenTreasureHunter) that found an 1877 spanish coin in circulation. I don't know if that would count but I hope it does

He posted a picture of it under his avatar. He may not even be an active member of the forum anymore. I'm also guessing the OP is only interested in finds from CRHers from this forum. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are wrong!

From the OP on the very first page (emphasis is mine)...

Quote:
All coins *must* have been recovered from circulation. Change, bank rolls, or any other method of circulation--the coin must have been acquired for face value, or for the cost of a coin it is replacing in a roll (in the case of foreign coins).

Works for me if we don't have anything else; I would really love to see what else our members have to offer.

I deleted that last reply. I didn't feel comfortable posting from another website.
