We have a couple of beverage machines in the break room at my job that says it will accept $2 bills... This one didn't say it, but it took it and gave me a Coke and 60 cents in change back...

I remember one other time that I saw a vending lady (when I worked day shift) pull a $2 bill out of the bill catcher...

Guess what... They better start getting used to seeing $2 bills now...

I feel like if you use a $2 as a tip for a restaurant or any tip in general, the person is likely to keep it since it's unique, lol.

It could go either way, but I think they will be spent since a tip is part of their pay. Same goes for bills or coins being exchanged for cash in the registers.

At our farmers markets and other venues, handed out more $2 bills over the last three weeks like normal - this time the amount is $1812. Also, I closed out the half dollar / dollar coin challenge with $498 in halves and a batch of dollar coins we received and I then recirculated. Obviously I am busy so I don't always post on a weekly basis. We continue to hand out about $30,000 a year in $2 bills or so based on my records this year.
Our bank branch closed so now I get our change at the main location in town, and they had to start stocking both $2 bills and halves. This lead to others starting to get a few. Now if I can figure out a way to accept cash for seed sales over the internet... nah that would not be efficient. I also have a vegetable, herb and flower seed sales business in addition to the farm.

$46,304 to go
