I bought 100 two dollar bills on Christmas Eve. So far I've spent nine of them on lottery tickets, ten at the grocery, and my wife has spent four at the local thrift shop. So we're down to 46,053 to go.

I like to spend the "odd money" and I let people know it. I spend $2 bills, dollar and half dollar coins. But I get the best reactions from the $2 bills. Everyone loves them and many people ask where I got them. Spending these is so much more fun than using a debit card.
My recent purchases:
$4 at Italian store
$12 at the club for drinks and tips
$6 at Wendys
$20 at grocery store
$4 at the barber for tips
$2 at Arbys
$8 at Rite Aid
$2 at convenience store
$8 at a coin show
$2 at McDonalds

Just spent $6 in twos as a tip at breakfast this morning and $10 in twos in the offerings at church. Brings the total to

@fuzzy317, good luck on the powerball! I bought a few tickets to today but unfortunately didn't have any $2s on me.
Just spent a $2 on some taco bell earlier today though so that brings the total to $45,892 to go!

The girl that took my order just looked at me dumbfounded when I handed them to her... I asked her if she ever saw a $2 bill before and she said she had had but couldn't believe I was spending them... I told her that they make them everyday and that I had gotten a strap from the bank... Even the manager thought they were cool and asked where I got them I told him the bank... The girl told me she gives any $2 bills she comes across to her young son... She also asked the manger where to put them in her drawer... It was quite funny transaction indeed...

Whenever I have spent twos, people will sometimes hesitate for a moment, but they usually don't say anything. Same goes for halves- most people don't react. I might get the occasional 'I don't get half dollars too often', but never much more than that. It's good that she gives them to her son, though. You never know, it could spark his interesting in collecting.
