I sent mine out today. I hope it gets there intact. That package is going to have a few frequent flier miles by the time it gets there! By the way, IF! It doesn't I'll be happy to try again. Just let me know.

My secret Santa gift arrived today and Wow! Thank you so much BadToTheBone. It seems like the $5-$10 idea has been blown out of the water by just about everyone. I'm waiting to see someone post gold in this thread. The PCGS calendar just happened to come in the mail today too. It was a good mail day cards, gifts, and no bills.

Someone else already posted a thread about the PCGS calendar recently. Quote: (and even assuming that the lower grades exist, which is not necessarily the case for many of the types) There was a very low Fort Vancouver commemorative in GTP recently.

Quote: There was a very low Fort Vancouver commemorative in GTP recently I wasn't aware of this one in particular (I think), but I try to follow the Circulated Commemorative Quest (or however it's actually called - I think there are several running in parallel), so I'm well aware that in theory lower-grade examples exist for all of the classic silver commemorative types. My point was that most of these are very rare, wouldn't be offered in the sort of coin stores I might end up at, and due to the lowballer competition might even be more expensive than MS (so if I can't afford the MS, I can't afford the lower grade either). It might be worth it to look for damaged examples, but I'm not sure if I could seriously consider buying a coin with serious damage. In my Russian type set attempts, I was fine with corroded and/or very worn coins (that was partly the point); but I probably wouldn't have bought anything that had a big gash across it (unless it was for ludicrously cheap - values that translate to well under melt when it comes to silver - and even then I'm not very sure), and when it comes to coins as rare (and as little circulated) as the classic commemoratives, examples like that might be my only option (except, again, for a few most common types).
