Hi all, the closest thing I could find would be the Venetian grosso type 3 1382 to 1400? Any ideas?

Great thank you :) I'm more of a large cent/half cent guy but this coin caught my eye. I googled the date range and I don't see another exactly the same, are there many variety's for this type of coin?

No books to recommend as this is not my collecting area. Be sure to scan down - perhaps about 3/4 down the page of that link - to see the grossos under "Doges of Venice: Francesco Foscari - 1423-1457."
