My next coin!...What do you think!? or Could someone check my description and give me an idea of grade. I think EF? One area that still confuses me a little bit is the mint...MHTA...Heraclea...But does this give me a workshop number and a more accurate mint date? ERIC LiciniusI A.D. 308-324 AE3 (Silvered) B13,O13,R41,T03,MO6,MH....RIC 17 (VII Heraclea) Any advice really welcome...THANKS

In these kinds of coins, the words "original silvered" are the best grade possible...

Gorgeous example!
I may be off but I believe this is how the mint mark breaks down
M = Moneta which means "money" or "mint" HT = denotes the mint Heraclea A = denotes the first workshop

I agree.
These coins have a thin silvering which is the first thing to go if they take any wear. Whilst I think grade is almost irrelevant I ancients (how well centred and how much eye appeal more so) if the coin has its silver it has to be Au surely?
Everyone has a campgate in their collection, but most people don't have a stand-out one like this.

This coin was struck at Heraclea first "officina" (workshop) in the year 317, after the peace conference of the end of the first war between Licinius and Constantinus I, after that peace conference Crispus, Constantinus II and Licinius II were created caesars but they all started to prepare the new and decisive war. This coin was struck to pay the last war against Constantinus the great army that started in the year 321. In the year 324 after the battle of Crysopolis, Licinius is defeated and put to death by Constantinus

Beautiful coin, well centered. This coin saw very little or no circulation. Congrats on an excellent addition to your collection.

Sometimes I Enjoy more the history hidden in a coin that the coin itself... The history of the Late Roman Empire is better (and bitter) that "Game of thrones"...
...But there are no dragons of course!

Love these silvered coins, and the 'nonstandard' busts. Very cool.
