Little year end bonus for dealers... Regardless as Silveroid stated...real nice to see some genuine buzz in NCLTs from the MINT...its been too long...indeed.

I am glad the coin seems to look better in hand than the RCM mock up, really can't understand why they don't use actual photos and again this coins sole purpose is to reward the best mc customers, why are they sending them to dealers, almost all dealers are going to double or triple price instantly I guess 30% discounts are not enough.

Quote: almost all dealers are going to double or triple price instantly Actually, 2x or 3x price would be a bargain. The Coin Shoppe has it for 4x issue.

Does the RCM need to reward dealers any more, the 220 or so units should of went to the other tiered mc, flawed logic, creates a bad taste for the mc who couldn't order even some platinum members

Agreed CC-Ottawa. They get a greater allocation - looks like at least 3 in this case - all others get maximum one if we're lucky - and to boot they get a discount .

Quote:I agree that it seems out of place to give dealers an allocation of a MC exclusive coin. But is the coin shoppe really an RCM dealer or just some really lucky humble little coin collector named Jack? http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/last-r...on-1.1180288 There's nothing prevent an owner to buy coin and became a MC Member. I don't think there's any allocation to dealers. If there are, you would see Canadian Coin bragging about it. They are (aside from CP) one of the biggest dealer for RCM. Chances are, the coin that Coinshoppe selling are from the owner's Personal MC accounts (relatives, friends)

Quote: Chances are, the coin that Coinshoppe selling are from the owner's Personal MC accounts (relatives, friends) I'd be surprised if a dealer who can buy at a discount is misusing the system to create multiple MC accounts and paying full price on thousands of dollars worth of coins simply to be able to get the odd exclusive MC coin. That makes zero sense. He sells many coins at issue price so clearly he is not buying them directly from the RCM at issue. BTW, the coin shoppe is also a Canada Post outlet. Likely can buy as an RCM coin dealer and as a CP outlet. added: Ir's also worth nothing that Mike said yesterday that his coin came from a dealer. see page 11. Quote: Mine came fast because I managed to find one at an authorized dealer. They only had one :( Unless you believe these dealers are buying from (or as) MC members to resell at issue (or more in the case of Coin Shoppe) then the most logical conclusion is that dealers are getting their share. Why they aren't all selling yet is anyone's guess.

Kind of interesting what Mike paid for this coin from the dealer, if he doesn't mind sharing.

If the coin is officially sold out, prices, that already increased, will start to climb up. This is still (really couple of days) good time to buy it, even for inflated price, but not good to sell it....better to wait, when "quick flippers" will be out.
Yeah, the coin is nice, but whoever owns it will say, that the coin is just bigger version of the 1935 - 2010 Silver Dollar, and nothing new here. But the selling price is very attractive, hence we will see not a few coins, that initially have been targeted for collection, but will be offered for sale on the sec market.

The only difference between this coin and a regular one is there will only be a max of about 200 units floating around many dealers and most of the buyers do not sell their coins unless it follows the first superman gold where it sold for a long time at 2300 to 2500 bucks.

If I were RCM management I'd be very interested in observing how many and how soon are for sale in the secondary market. Because it's an excellent means of gauging the value and effectiveness of their MC program in general, as the volume of secondary sales may be an indicator of those who are true NCLT collectors and others who buy their product only to flip for a quick profit. I'd expect overall that NCLT collectors are a more valued segment as secondary market value is not their main incentive to buy.
