This is not a commissioned coin so I doubt they will colour a copy version.

Quote: But the Obverse.....it shouldn't be selective, looks ugly. I agree. The reverse does look pretty good, but the obverse (in my opinion).... Something looks way off. They should have George fully gold plated.

There will be three coins struck specifically for MC members per year. One of them is free that MC's already got. This is the second one. There will be a third one before this year's program ends on 6/30/16.
There are two levels of platinum members : platinum and platinum prestige.
I know there is at least one more level (or more) above platinum prestige. My buddy is obvious one of those. He gets special calls from his rep for releases even during the weekends.

There at least 3 levels of Platinum. 1. Platinum is minimum $2000 spent. This is my level. 2. Platinum Plus is minimum $5000. 3. Platinum Prestige is minimum $10,000. From what I recalled from the program, anything above $10,000 level gives you lifetime MC membership. Obviously they are giving people who have spent the most money the first crack at new coins. I guess I did not spend enough to get such privileges since my emails always arrive late.

Yes, you are right. There are three official levels of platinum but there might be levels above platinum prestige. That is the right way to go. The RCM should discriminate between various levels of customers.

Official or not, there has to be another level of mc for the people that buys those kilo gold coins, the RCM don't produce them for show. Also they are trying to politely weed out the messy gold hoard, and the 20 for 20 buyers.

Quote:The RCM should discriminate between various levels of customers. I don't disagree but the devil is in the details. Who is a 'better' RCM customer? One who has spent $30-40k over a number of years or one who bought a single $11k coin on a whim? Which one really should be an MC for life? Which one deserves to be treated better under a 'loyalty' program? The Mint has clearly decided on a "what have you done for me lately" approach.

They should have raised the minimum mc to 2000 or 3000 to start the tiers, but it could be a mute point after this year, many collectors will just let their mc lapse, you can buy almost any coin cheaper elsewhere, and their coin a day practice. This coin will be one of the exception, maybe 2 coins a year. Just to add, before the 20 for 20and the gold hoard which inflated the mc #, regular repeat customers over the years are what you want to reward, but the RCM seems to be going a different direction, so much for those surveys.

Agree with John's post.
Also will support what Mltung said - Mint does have differentiate between the customers according to their "loyalty".
From other hand: we all want to get rare / scarce items, but is it really healthy situation? As we observed, even for some items with the limited mintage, there is no demand. So why there is crazy demand for other items? Looks like no satisfaction for all when there are a lot of coins, and same when there are coins that impossible to get.

The part of your satisfaction is someone else's misfortune.

BTW, the coin is now on the site for me (MC gold).
Now that I've been able to see the details, I wonder how other SD collectors view this offering. Does it compliment your collector or do you see this as something other than a SD? Have it or let it pass by?
If it's a silver dollar, is it the lowest mintage SD ever?

It's not a silver dollar, I for one would have preferred a simple proof finish copy of the 1935 without gold accent, the obverse in my opinion they over enginered the King, still affordable and kind of cool.

Great Format and the Gold Plating IMO is far more desirable than any color scheme.
Would be nice to know how many coins in the series and what years the Mint will re produce.
1939-Golden Parliament Buildings 1949 1958-Golden Totem Pole 1964 1967-The Golden Goose
that would make six total.....anyone else have suggestions.

Do not see it yet (on Mint website) with the Silver MC account.
Probably will be "Awaiting stock" soon.
