Well the link isn't working for me but it was "17 coins" 12 Franklin halfs, 3 Washington quarters, two Roosevelt dimes (no key dates) and the bid was up to $170+.... So 24x face. That was high even for ebay

I work at a store in Portland Oregon USA, and our current sell price is 12.06 x face value, with spot at $14.20.

It might be like the shop I work at. The owner has a spreadsheet that we input the spot price of silver and gold, then the buy and sell prices will not come out at a even amount.

Thanks for the question, I've only started working here recently, but it's a lot of fun and I'm learning a lot! The .06 was just me being exact, we'll often round to an easier number depending on the quantity.
I based the price off of our website which updates every minute based on Kitco's spot prices. We adjust the calculations for each type of bullion occasionally based on market conditions, availability of product, and competitor prices; but this way someone coming into the store knows exactly what price we are buying and selling at.

Just as a brief update, prices have not budged from 12x face at my local coin store (with spot price hovering around $14.00). Both supply and overall selection are quite poor as well, consisting largely of War Nickels, 40% silver half-dollars, Roosevelt dimes, and Washington quarters. For weeks now, my dealer has been mentioning how he has all sorts of new junk silver coming in that he just has to sort through before the common items will end up in the bin, but I have not seen anything materialize as-yet. Outside of the one store that I usually visit at least once a week, prices continue to be set at 14x face and up everywhere else.

While on a day trip to Burlington WA, found a combo antique & coin shop, bought a small amount of 90% for 13x face.

Junk silver pricing remains at 12x face at my most-visited store. At the other store in town, the proprietor raised his price to 13x face since the last time I was there. As I write this, spot price has been around $14.25- $14.35 an ounce. The 12x face store mostly had 40% silver half dollars, War Nickels, Washington quarters, Roosevelt dimes, and one or two 90% silver half dollars. There were also a negligible number of lower-quality Mercury dimes. The 13x face store had a much larger number/ selection of 40%-90% silver half dollars and dimes (including two Barbers and several Mercury dimes), but only 3 or 4 quarters (all Washington).

One of my local coin shops is 12.5 x face but he usually doesn't have a huge supply to choose from. The other one depends on the coin, but I did score 90 Mercury dimes at 1.25 each.
