Seems like 55P's come in groups based on everyone's finds... To continue that trend, we went through a box last weekend. Found 27 pre-60's Jeffersons, highlights were 55 and 58 Philly. Also found one 2009D and a 1987 Canadian Nickel among the group. The 55P appears to be in pretty nice shape.

I'm glad I'm amongst those who has found a 1955 Philly lately. Usually I'm left out in the cold on those. Over the weekend, I did a batch of 5480 nickels, found 47 pre-60s including 5 War Nickels, and a 1958 Philly. Also found 8 2009-Ds and my first 2018 dated coin of the year.

So this happened today. Yes, that's 78 Buffalo nickels and a straggler 1941 Jefferson... For full details, go to the thread below as I will be updating on that thread - 64 of the 78 coins are dateless and are now "pickling." Included in the finds so far are a 1913 Type 1 and a 1927-S: http://goccf.com/t/313881

Oh, and this little gem popped out about 6 hours ago in a batch of 10 CWR from a completely different bank!

Nice 38-S John77! I have to ask: have you discovered a complete set of Jefferson nickels just in 2018? If I recall correctly, you recently found another 50-D.

Quote:Nice 38-S John77! I have to ask: have you discovered a complete set of Jefferson nickels just in 2018? If I recall correctly, you recently found another 50-D. Thanks! I am short three coins now of completing a set found this calendar year - 1939-D, 1944-D and 1944-S. I shouldn't have much trouble finding a 1944-S as I've found 24 to date... the 1944-D is a little tougher, with 13 found... the '39-D will be the hard one as I've found only two to date... Oh, and by the way, I hit that bank again which had the Buffalo hoard... had another roll with 35 Buffalos, 2 1940 Philly and a 1943-P ... Updates to come on the that thread: http://goccf.com/t/313881
