Thanks, Errers and Varietys!

FYI, that's the first time I've heard of anyone finding a 1950 and a 1950-D in the same box.

Interestingly, the last day I found a 1950-D, it also came from the third roll of a batch, and I also found a 1950 Philly nickel. Actually, I found seven 1950 Philly nickels that day! Time to ride back to 2/16/2018 and my little B of A hoard which included 24 semi-keys - 1949-S (9), 1950 (7), and 1951-S (8)...

Hey, aristachus123!

Actually, I didn't find any in 2016, but 1 each in 2017, 2018, and now this one to break in 2019... they are tied with the 1939-D (found 1 each year 2016, 2017, 2018) at 3 found via CRH.

I haven't totaled my finds in quite a while, but the 3rd hardest is a good competition between the 1938-D, 1938-S, 1943-D, and 1955 Philly, all of which are in the high single-digits to low double-digits found.

Great finds Pancake! The first War Nickel shows a nice Lamination error on the obverse side.

I've only done two boxes over the last seven or eight months. The first was a bust, but on the one I'm almost finished with now, I've found three War Nickels (43P, 42S and 43S) as well as one 2009 and a 1953D.

Wow! That 43D is a great find! All of the silver nickels I've found look like they are just begging to be melted down! Best of luck with your roll project. Have you noticed that every once in awhile a fantastic looking Gem from a 60's date just shows up in a roll out of nowhere? Haven't found anything of that era with steps yet, though. Still looking!
I bought several rolls of uncirculated nickels from the 60's on ebay. Most steps I ever found was two.

Whenever I see a nickel from the 60's, even a '64, I check the back to see if there is more than a blob where the steps should be.

I returned some bottles to a grocery store tonight. Normally, I go to the courtesy desk to cash in the redemption slips but because it was late, I had to go into one of the open lanes. The cashier redeemed the slips and when his till opened, I saw in the nickels tray the peculiar rear of a buffalo. I told him to give me that nickel with a buffalo on it plus another nickel and a quarter. He obliged and I found a 1927 Buffalo nickel in pretty good shape. There's even a partial horn!

Talk about being at the right place at the right time. This was my first Buffalo nickel from circulation in two years.
