AllSeasons Valued Member United States 397 Posts	Posted 05/24/2025 6:47 pm Finished a box of Loomis nickels yesterday. There were only 10 pre-1960 finds, which made it one of the worse boxes I've ever hunted. However, I also found a 2009-D, 2009-P, and a 2024-P (my very first), so from that perspective, it was a pretty good box. So I'm not sure what to make of it. Cheers! Report this Post to the Staff

pound_foolish Valued Member United States 407 Posts	Posted 06/14/2025 12:54 pm After a bunch of so-so nickel hunts lately (mostly CWR), I stumbled upon a great box that gave up a 74 S impaired proof, FOUR 1943 P war nicks, stunning 1940 P and 1942 P (non silver) upgrades, a pair of 1955 P, and the 7th 1941 S large S FS-501 I've found since I started this crazy journey several years ago. Here are the 41 S FS-501 examples.I didn't use a scope for the close-ups but am happy to do so if anyone wants clearer images. I think @Brandmeister is a fellow collector of this variety as well. aristarchus123 Pillar of the Community United States 1695 Posts	Posted 07/07/2025 9:16 pm After a break of several years off, I did two boxes of nickels, and these are the results. It was strange to be doing boxes of nickels again after time away. I picked these boxes up in Illinois while on summer travels. Glad to see that War Nickels are still around. I had done a some quarters over the last few years, but had stayed away from nickels for a while after returning 100+ boxes to the banks around here.
