One time while nickel roll hunting, I came upon a collection dump. Sadly no Shield nickels or V nickels, but I found quite a few buffalos and nothing was newer than 1960. My favorite part was finding 6 1950-D's

I have lucked into several collection dumps - one in a Brinks box and the rest in customer wrapped rolls. One was at the end of last week.I'll get some photos tomorrow of what was in there - mostly some gorgeous proofs but some high grade early Jeffersons and a smattering of semi-key dates, along with a single 1938 S.
Those are the lucky strikes that keep us coming back for more!

Teller had another $40 from the same batch that gave up the proofs above. No silver, a couple semi-keys, early BU coins and more proofs!

I just had my most significant nickel hunt on Friday, searching a grand total of $380. Unlike the two dime boxes which were a total zonk as well as the dubious distinction of having not a single half dollar in stock by the whopping ten banks I searched, I still made my day with 77 common 1939-1959's, three XF-AU 1939's (too bad there was no mint mark nor doubled MONTICELLO), a 1920 Buffalo, a 1944-P War Nickel, and a 1991-S lightly impaired proof. Those six featured finds are below:
