not that I am a huge expert, but I look at tons of cents, along with a number of 68d's, and I've seen a few like that. Have to agree with Jim; Machine Doubling to me
Hmmm....I guess I'll have to defer more to your estimations. The description of the 68-D DDR does include, "wide spread in "TES OF AMERICA" -- maybe the spread has to be wider. I understand your perspectives, however, because I've looked at innumerable machine doubles that beg do be DD.
I have a lot of 60's coins with similar doubling. I've held on to them all. It's seems very dramatic to me, but every time I've seeked opinions, I've been told Machine Doubling.
