This would be like a a Star wars toy was an error packaged, cool but how cool, now if the toy had a different head that's really cool in it's original packaging.

Well my 2016 uncirculated set arrived in the mail and the loonie is also a 2016 version. Oh well. I'm not disappointed because I'm saying to myself - hey isn't this exactly what I ordered? Yes it is.

When I found the 2015 Loonie, my first reaction was this is not what I ordered, but I am keeping it. I ordered another set, hopefully it will be correct this time.

Dr Jeckle, I'm glad you're keeping your unusual and unique set. By luck or chance, you were the recipient!
That coin sets might be mismatched, I'd never heard of before so your experience was also informative for not only me but others I'm sure.

Quote:Here's another one.... ebay item number: 141882941062 Well now the OP will get a good idea as to what it is worth. 32$US and 13 bidders with 8 days to go. Pretty good so far.

Is it possible that this was a mule? Are there any features of the 2015 (besides the date lol) that distinguish it from the 2016s?

I sent coinshoppe.ca a message about their item for sale on e-bay so they know it is not "one of a kind" as they stated.
I ordered a new set from the mint and it arrived today with the correct coins this time.
It might not be one of a kind, but 2 in 60000 is still quite rare.

I hope you guys get 20,000.00 for the set even though as far as errors goes it's just a packaging error, not a mule.

This set is being sold by the same person who sold the #20,000 roll of last distributed pennys for if I remember for over 10,000.00 so it wouldn't surprise me to see this set go foe an insane value. There will be no chance of even a BIN at current prices, thanks anyway.

A little off topic but wouldn't it be in the RCMs best interest to release an error every once and a while? Would definitely drum up interest in their mint sets. I still wonder how they forgot the "25 cents" on my 1999 September quarter.

They are third partied packaged, my guess the workers are paid a little over minimum wage, they really could care too much.
