@wildflowerAB. Quote: You can't be serious. Yes, I am. Did you see how much people have paid for the packaging error in 2016 uncirculated set? Did you really think they didn't know about the markup? When you decide to buy a sandwich, do you really calculate the markup? Seriously. Yesterday's prices? How interesting! Tell me more.

The Parliament coin has never disappeared from the RCM site. It is always been there under new releases. Right now it shows as "awaiting stock". Plenty of stock at Colonial Acres at issue price. They have 31 of them. Gatewest also has it.

What is so difficult to understand about the two words: "awaiting stock" RCM's retail price is $114.95 and the price obviously includes a "markup". As for sandwiches, most people buy directly from the sandwich shop, not from a guy selling their sandwiches out of his backpack at almost twice the cost.

I'm not sure I understand what is you point. Do you really expect that it will be available again for purchase at RCM? Yes, directly from the sandwich shop... while they have something to sell. When they all will be sold out, then you will be buying "from a guy selling their sandwiches out of his backpack at almost twice the cost". And when you would be dying from hunger, the "twice the cost" deal would be the sweetest one in your life.

Too Funny MTS and Wildflower, both interesting perspectives. The price is falling for the error set 2016, 1 sold best offer, less than the $249, someone was asking. Its too bad the price isn't shown. This lucky seller in the GTA sold a total of 3 sets. So it seems, first to auction got the best prices.
Another error set auction just finished for $185 shipped, so a dramatic decrease!

Quote:Do you really expect that it will be available again for purchase at RCM? Yes, I certainly do expect the stock that's "awaiting" will become available. When the full 4,000 mintage is sold out, then I expect it will appear on their website, indicating it is Sold Out. That's a reasonable expectation, I presume? After that point in time, should people who missed the opportunity choose to buy at a higher price in the secondary market, that's their prerogative. Furthermore, I also don't recall that RCM has ever deemed that anonymous people on forums or message boards be responsible for verbalizing Sell Outs on their behalf, particularly by people who often have a vested interest by profiting from that type of misinformation. if you have reason to believe what you say is fact and not just your opinion, then to gain credibility, you might urge RCM to update the incorrect information on their website.

No thank you. I'd walk down the street and find another place to eat instead. Never cared much for egg sandwiches anyway....

I think too many were put up for sale all at the same time, people got too anxious and greedy. It turned into a public announcement that it wasn't only maybe 2 or 3 sets, but many and probably still more. As well, certainly a limited number of people follow ebay on a frequent basis, let alone check out 2016 uncirculated sets. Same as NCLT, too much supply, lack of demand.

Wow maybe we all missed something, looking at todays solds I found 3 2016pysanka coins, sold for $212 - $245 with shipping. It must of been a sleeper. Now if the mint can have 1 coin each release, sell above issue, it may restore faith in their products again. Its strange as other egg coins aren't the rage, however, it may be the 1st full oz egg. Others are usually around 20 gr.

I'm Ukranian and admit it peaked my curiosity but I took a pass on the coin at it's current price. Honestly, my family has a couple of real deal Pysanka that were handmade by other family members...I don't need a coin 'replicating' this. A coin such as this with some kind of historical significance (key date in Ukrainian-Canadian history) or even a coin depicting the first Ukrainian settlers on the prairie with a sod-house or a prairie Ukrainian church (there's some really nice ones out West) might be more intriguing than just a one-off egg-shaped Pysanka.

This is was really nice to hear, great post! Ofcause this is kind of "collectible" and "art" and etc...but in reality this just imitation for inflated price. Souvenir.

Children's (expensive) novelty item to find during the egg hunt on Easter Sunday morning? "Hey look what I found, a $20 egg coin!" If that's the appeal, it's kind of sad, so many listings on ebay for very beautiful handmade pysankas, the real thing.
