There is NO February release for general public on Mint's web site. Except the Library of Parliament and DAYTONA.

Thanks for clarifying mts. So, then it's a partial release.

I'm a VIP member too. CCC cannot have an item in stock prior to it's official release date by RCM. It's not yet been released because it doesn't appear on RCM's "New Release" link (sold out or otherwise).

It can still be preordered, this is a Febuary release. However you certainly can be right and what happened is they made a mistake by showing the item "in stock" before it was supposed to be released. But I've never had occasion where an item "is on order" and my order hasn't been filled within a period of time.

I received the CDNCOIN VIP email a few days ago and every February coin was in stock. Most of the coins are still in stock. The piedfort, the parliament library, and the egg are out of stock. You can't load coins into the cart that are out of stock even though it says "this item is currently on order". However, even some coins that say in stock also say "this item is currently on order".

I am pretty sure big dealers like CDNCOIN have the coins physically in stock. Sometimes I get the coins from CDNCOIN a few days after the general release. This is not possible unless the store physical have the coin in stock since it take 7 days to reach me on the West Coast.

Whenever I've preordered an item, I receive an email advising "at this time the RCM has guaranteed our allocation of new coins and we are awaiting delivery of this latest launch. The Mint's usual practice is to begin shipping wholesale orders the week following the advertising launch, so we anticipate receiving the coins in 1 to 2 weeks. Your order will be fulfilled promptly once we receive the products from the RCM......." Goes on to say "From time to time, the Royal Canadian Mint will have delays in production for new launch coins, which can sometimes result in lengthy backorders."

Seems reasonable to me.

Here on this forum we have also observed from time to time that RCM doesn't mint the entire mintage at once because what's not in stock becomes back in stock. You really think it's reasonable that all 4,000 Egg coins have been sold in advance prior to the public release date? I'm not buying that, there's just no way this coin would ever be that popular of an item.

Edit to add: Question: Do you think it's possible that such things as RCM production delays or distribution issues result in increased sales?

Egg and Birthstones: March are sold out at Mint. There is no doubt. How do I know? It is the pattern. When the coin is temporary out of stock, then it remains on the same position in the list of certain category, i.e. in MC or New Releases. However, when this coin is out of stock permanently, then it goes to the end of the list.

Yet the library of parliament coin can now be ordered directly from the RCM website.

I'd expect the entire birthstone series was purchased mainly though subscribers. Unlike other series filled of future question marks, the buyer knows what to expect in advance.

As for the others, I'm only going to say in my opinion trying to predict sellouts is very difficult because RCM only releases total mintage numbers which gives the illusion "out of stock" means a sell out of the entire mintage directly to the public. Yet several recent examples prove that not always to be true. It's to RCM's advantage to promote limited stock "hurry, buy now before it's too late" is consistently used as one of their main advertising enticements.....

The 2013 Piedfort sold out quickly at RCM, and in the 2015 could be found for CAD 50-70.

Although Concave + UHR is more unique than just UHR, but we all remember how did 2013 UHR Mask, being sold out.

Egg-coin - this has it own target group, interesting item, but do not think, that the collectors really bothered.

I was referring to Canadian Coin and Currency. They are sold out of the piedfort, library, and egg coin.

The Mint is sold out of the egg coin but still have the piedfort and library coins.

The parliament coin has over 1700 views, while the pysanka only has 228 views. I really liked the parliament coins until Commems pointed out the doughnut wreath and blank face on the statue. However, at the right price, I would add it, the pysanka, and the coat of arms coins. The real test will be dealer inventories and ebay. I like they added the views function.

If it's true buyer demand is so high that RCM has already presold all the 4000 Ukrainian Egg coins before it even hit the shelves, then watch for mintage volumes to be raised righter by next month, full circle to the previous year.

I sincerely hope that is not the case but neither do I read Sold Out into "out of stock, awaiting order".

Another explanation is that it's highly possible dealers have reduced the volumes ordered from RCM, not wanting to get stuck with large quantities of unsold items that must be sharply discounted. And if dealers are ordering less, in turn it's also probable RCM is minting smaller portions of total mintage at one time.

Interesting. The parliament coin is now viewable by the general public but the pysanka is not, which may also account for additional views.

It will be interesting to see the Bromberg presentation, I think Wednesday on the coin show and see how he does with them. The lightening is always perfect, I enjoy it for this reason.

I'm very happy to see that the RCM has reduced the mintage for several coins. I'm sure this is due to the revamping of the masters club and overhauled structure of how the mint will operate in the future.
I decided a couple years ago to only but $X for $X coins from RCM since virtually all coins I could get cheaper at a coin shop. Having a Ukrainian background and the mintage of 4000 made me think twice about the egg coin. It is very nice and an interesting design but since it appears sold out, looks like I'll have to wait to see if it turns out to be a hit or not.
