Wildflower... first I want to say thank you... since I've moved I really haven't been doing much with my coins. But I just LOVE 50 cent coins and this thread was exactly the kick in the pants that I needed. Pulled out my 50 cent coins, and found all my '43s... Most of my '43s are pretty vanilla but the following I think are a bit interesting.

What I think is an early state die crack from the tip of the 3

Fifty-Cent-Varieties---1943

An early state die crack from the hoof

Fifty-Cent-Varieties---1943

Doubled 3

Fifty-Cent-Varieties---1943

This is probably my favourite... a full clash of George's head on the reverse... you can see the lips very well right beside the staff the unicorn is holding

Fifty-Cent-Varieties---1943

And this coin was the start of my education and passion for 50 cent pieces... 3/3/3

Any idea what kind of premium the clash might achieve?

Nice coins Agcoinau......I have never been quoted a price for a clash mark coin, so I don't think that there is really a premium..

I think the clashes and die cracks on the Canada fifty cents are fairly common, especially in the 40's as the dies were used quite regular, so I don't think there is very much of a premium.

Good to know!... Still one of my favourites... got that one at a coin club auction ... I saw it and had to have it... but apparently there was one other member that really wanted it too... as they say in football .. had to go deep for that one!

Hi Torgemco

It looks like you have a bit of a die clash on your coin as well, on the reverse between the left spear and the edge of the shield. Does the clash continue into the design?
