Finn235 Pillar of the Community United States 6130 Posts	Posted 02/01/2016 02:23 am Looks like a Roman provincial. Septimius Severus or Antonius Pius as a guess. I don't like the looks of it. The surface looks too clean for the amount of wear this coin supposedly has. Check the edges for a casting seam. lrbguy Pillar of the Community United States 949 Posts	Posted 02/02/2016 5:34 pm Like you I thought it might be a copy of an Alexandrian tetradrachm for Antoninus Pius, so I checked for it in Curtis and Milne. I cannot read the left side of the obverse, but based on the right ANTWNINOC Milne lists the obverse as a type B. However neither of these authorities list this reverse in combination with this obverse. Unless you can find something in more recent authorities, I am inclined to think the OP coin is a tourist piece of modern manufacture. Report this Post to the Staff
