My rep also sent me a similar video last night, except made by him himself, sitting at the same desk, showing the coins in the same sequence. This must be the reps' "me too" response to Steven Bromberg's shopping channel coin show. And they are all doing it without gloves.

@ moneypenny. In regards to the coin being a dud. You have to remember that this is the first RCM coin to feature batman. Not to mention its also tied to a major movie. I think all the batman fans will snap this up. That being said, I too believe the design leaves a lot to be desired.

With the 30K mintage of the lenticular coin, do not forget that the first Lenticular coin of the Superman had no mintage limit (just later it was corrected to be 20k or 25K), and was demanded not less that any of silver coins.
Not the mintage of these coins playing role, but extremely tasteless design. Actually mintage also has impact...the flippers will not try to buy each and every coin.

@Mikesnickname,
The gold coin is more of a Superman coin than a Batman coin since you can barely see Batman with only his side and back visible. There are other coins in the series that show Batman fully, like the $10 coin.
Will Batman fans pay $800 for coin that show a Batman hiding behind Superman? I don't know.

I was very open minded - trying not to be too quick to judge...but its just not happening as many of you sense within yourselves. The black box is the most appealing but it should never be about the packaging alone... I believe this is the first movie tie-in product for RCM. I just don't see the collectibility factor of a BEN-Man coin. They really should have stuck to comic covers...much more appealing for most collectors...especially comic purist.

@shopahoic: agree with your comments... when I saw "no gloves" in the video, it was a "nails on a chalkboard" moment for me. The video was fairly well put together - I was actually impressed. RCM is forecasting that the 14k gold and 2oz. silver coins will rapidly sell out. EDIT - 8:30PM: Permission granted to share link below. UPDATE - Feb 16: Videos have been restricted on YouTube. Video links removed at request of RCM.

I'm a platinum mc member. I noticed the first video had the mc logo. Does anyone know when these will be available to purchase online?

I'll stick with the 20 for 20 Batman v Superman coin, which is already being shown on the RCM web site as part of the 2016 $20 for $20 Collection. Item NO. 153491.

Quote:A 2016 gold Batman vs Superman coin just sold for $1,094.99 CDN http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2016-CANADA-...262292263180 Some people want to avoid the 2013 situation and grab the coin immediately, specially, when the add in the listing states: PRE-ORDER#9733;
NO TAXES
Immediate payment NOT requiredIn this case, the honest buyer's behavior will be: *Buy this listings, asking seller to wait with the payment *To wait for the RCM announcement and try to get for issue ( RCM or dealer / CP ) *If got for issue - cancel the current ebay purchase.

The lenticular looks interesting and the packaging for the gold coin is awesome. Somehow, they cant beat the original 2013 release. These just don't grab my interest straight off.

If it really bothers you, don't ever send coins to a major grading company. Seriously. Agreed...to a point. These are not graders or even coin experts. They are salespeople who presumably are repacking the coins. The optics are terrible. Of course, perhaps these are sales samples which don't get sold in which case we should expect final mintage numbers to be -1...but I doubt that. If you watch any video depicting NCLT production at the Mint, you'll invariably see workers wearing finger coverings (they look like rubber). Why would these salespeople not simply wear the same protection when producing their sales videos? Edit to add: I really do not like the direction the Mint is taking. Take the word 'Canada' off these coins and they scream Perth Mint.
