Yes stick around tedster. Don't let one bad post end your membership here. It's not worth it.

sorry to those left scratching there heads. I made this post as "bargain bin finds". They were in no name slabs and I new this, I got them for my granddaughter to learn from, and at a quarter a piece I was excited. The second post was from a member that posts
"you know these are all basement slabbers right?" I felt like he was trying to make me look like a fool. that is why I deleted all script in posts and the pictures.I felt like the person was saying to me these coins are not worthy of being posted here. So sorry for the confusion.

Tedster, certainly hope you reconsider and stick around. I held off on joining any forums for a while because I had a previous experience on another forum where I posted something and used the wrong technical term, and was lambasted...

I have found the members of this forum to be nearly universally helpful and pleasant, and the ones that are not, do not seem to last long...

Much of what I personally collect may come across as 'junk' to some people, but fascinating to others...And of course vise-versa...

Regardless, I certainly hope your future experiences with this forum treat you much better!

People of this forum are generally very friendly. Stick around you may know.
Talk about junk. I have bought pile of modern territory and ATB Quarter rolls I am not very fond of and modern proof sets. I just do not know what I like and like to buy cheap stuffs. It turns out I hate the space those stuffs occupy.

Yeah, I don't think any harm was intended, and I know from experience that inflexion doesn't translate well in writing unless I'm very careful to exactly communicate the intended meaning.

Again, stick around this is an unusually friendly forum.

I said I thought they were good coins, hence "good for you".
I just pointed out they were basement slabbers.
Also, in your original post, you gave no clue as to your knowledge of coins or that you knew they were basement slabs.

We get a lot of people who join and post who don't know that they didn't get something super special.
Wasn't trying to be rude.

Also, in the 5 years I have been on this forum. It's the first time I have been called rude.

From the way you said it, I and others interpreted it as mean-ish. Sorry if I offended you.

Ploopy, I don't get offended easily.
The internet is an awful way to infer intent.
And re-reading, I could have phrased the question better like...

"Do you know those are basement slabs?"

Stamp the way you worded your reply good for you.
you know these are all basement slabbers right? makes me think hes telling me good for you you just bought crap coins, how else was I to take it? if you say that was not what you meant we will move on. I will keep reading posts and commenting on a few but posting has a sour taste in my mouth.

I'm very sorry that you had a bad first impression of our forums. I've been reading these forums for a long time and rarely ever find inflammatory or rude posts, and when I do they are usually taken care of very quickly.

On another note, I'm genuinely interested as to what kind of coins these were that were slabbed? I mean it's clear by the posts that they weren't special, but surely the slabs themselves were worth more than 25 cents. Did these basement slabbers casually slab pocket change?

I put the original images back into the first post.

I say they are decent bargain bin finds and I am sure your granddaughter appreciated them.
