1986 medal looks cast, just judging from the graininess. I really liked the birth of DF and the Feria of Taxco 1973.

Just an amazing collection, and I'm expecting that there is still more to come. My favorite so far has been the 1967 medal with the maritime theme.

From time to time, medals have been struck with that grainy look. I'll post one or more later to illustrate. This particular 1986 issue all look like that.

There are one or two medals that have indeed been faked, and I'll make a post illustrating the fakes later (after I finish one per year).

It may not be an eagle, and no cactus, but this scene captured by my dash cam last week reminded me of many of your posts.

Very nice collection of medals.

Over the years I have picked up medals and tokens that have caught my eye.
Many of the ones you have posted would catch my eye.

Several that you have posted seem to have a design connection to Mexican
coins, that are in my collection ... Those are my favorites.

I see La Casa de Moneda de Mexico felt obligated to put their mark on both sides of this medal.
