I got this 2005 quarter from a loomis roll back in 2005 at the time the quarter looked better than what it does now it had a copper tint bleeding through the nickel, now it has a dark look but you can still make out a dirty copper look bleeding through, both sides are deeply struck and the surface has a wrinkled look to it and the edge has no reed.

I have a 2005-P Virginia quarter similar to that I found a month ago the color is the same, the reed is the same but instead of being deeply struck the reverse design is higher than the rim

I have been researching improper annealed coins and have found some that match the coloring but the other issues with the quarters have me stumped,on the 2005 kansas quarter it is deeply struck with a wrinkled like surface with no reed,it came from a 2005 Kansas quarter roll from loomis.and on the 2005 Virginia quarter lightly struck and since it has been in circulation for awhile the missing reed could be from that but not sure.i will download pics of the Virginia quarter shortly.

It is a 2005 West Virginia quarter not a Virginia quarter.
