I've received several 2016 dimes as well but that's it. I'm thinking that the discontinuance of the penny and rounding to nearest 5c, over time is requiring greater demand for dimes to be added into circulation.

Lotsa 25cents and 5cents lately. No 10cents, loonies or toonies yet in my neck of the woods.

Sure, we'll accept that, but you spelled 2016 wrong.

I have yet to find a 2016 loonie, though have found all other denominations.
I did find a 2016 dime that has missing beads/dots (I think)

Received a toonie while at the RCNA convention in Ottawa. Very doubtful that we will see a regular loon aside from the collector sets. At least one person I spoke to while there commented on the lack of quality control on this year's circulation coinage. He showed me some 5 cent coins missing quite a few beads on the obverse. Seems that this may not be an isolated problem with one denomination. Might be worth taking a closer look at pocket change.

My find is not a 2016 loonie but a 1987 loonie I picked up in change yesterday. That find and this topic got me thinking. This coin, almost 30 years in circulation, well worn but probably good for another 30 years. No $1 note would have ever survived more than a few short years at best. Except for collectors picking some loonies out of circulation, there are many millions of loonies out there. Not surprising we are not going to see 2016 circulation loonies.

Quote: This is the dime that I found missing some beads on the reverse I checked some of the Caribou 25 cents received in change and they appear to be fine. It would be interesting to discover how and why this is happening and perhaps a good topic for the errors and varieties category.
